I was somewhat apprehensive about spending the day at Wadi Adventure, both on account of the activities on offer and the location. Did I really want to drive all the way down to Al Ain to flounder in pummeling water? The short answer is a resounding yes! I had not been to Al Ain for about 15 years so it was something of a trip down memory lane for me. I was dragged there by a friend who assured me of a great outing, and he was not wrong. What a truly great experience – I was very pleasantly surprised. They have put together a very good little adventure park with a great choice for almost everyone. This is one of those places where you most certainly get out what you put in. I strongly recommend you embrace the park and give it your best. You will not be disappointed. I saw both the bold and the fearful have a great time. This is not a mega-bling “world’s biggest” adventure park by any means – it is a well-crafted, well-thought out niche adventure park, very deserving of your attendance. We started by cooling off from the drive in the wave-pool, which is a pleasant enough way to get things going. But then it was time to tackle the rapids with a bout out of White Water Rafting. An absolutely cracking activity! Listen carefully to the safety induction-course – it will stand you in good stead if you get dumped overboard as I was – all part of the fun. It is exhilarating and very good exercise. TIP: The boat takes five, plus the member of staff, making it a great event for a group of five. If you are less, they will add others to make up the numbers. It is physically challenging but truly rewarding. An absolute blast and this alone is worth making the trip down from Dubai. Thirsty and in very good spirits, we had lunch at the Surf Café. A decent choice of acceptable food for such an outing. I had Chicken Quesadilla’s that were actually pretty good. Refreshed with energy, we tackled the Air Park next, which was somewhat challenging for me, as I am still recovering from a debilitating motorcycle accident. But I managed it all and never felt in danger at any time. If you are unable to complete an obstacle challenge you merely let go, and the safety harness will carry you over to the next. I noted that one always has two safety ropes tethered to your harness, so if the main rope should fail there is a backup. And on the subject of safety, it is readily apparent that the staff are well-versed in safety measures and ever vigilant. I noticed they were very attentive at all times and friendly to approach. A great team of people that make you feel relaxed and confident. Their training was clearly evident, not just in safety, but in customer relations too. After gently sailing across the park from the top of the Airpark on a zipline, we retired to the wave pool again to escape the summer heat. And unfortunately we were out of time so missed kayaking and some of the other activities we had booked, but this was our own fault for arriving late. And on that subject – do not rely on Google Maps and your smartphone to get you there from Dubai. It will take you through the heart of Al Ain and endless roundabouts. Take a look at the map and you will find a much better route that drops you very close to the park from the E66. I will certainly be back! The only slight blemish on the company is that I contacted them twice, once by email and once using their contact form, both without reply, a full week later. Our group of six benefitted from Cobone vouchers but their standard entry fees are very reasonable and depend on the activities you choose. Their price-list is on their website with various...
Read moreI recently participated in the WAR obstacle race at the Al Ain Adventure Park, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exhilarating. The park itself is a fascinating blend of man-made structures and natural elements, nestled in a mountainous area, which adds to its charm and uniqueness.
The obstacle race was well-organized and challenging, providing an excellent opportunity for both physical exertion and mental stimulation. It was a test of endurance, agility, and strength, set against the backdrop of the park’s stunning natural scenery. Read moreI went with my friends and let me preface by saying we had a good day however there was still rocky bits, on the ticket we got and the email we received it said doors open at 7am, we reached by 8 and the doors was closed. Security then proceeded to tell us it opens at 12pm, we’re like okay why did the tickets say 7? They had nth to say, one of the security guards actually just left us and went in with no care. The manager comes out and says why didn’t we check the website. My argument is if it is said on the ticket why would I for one second think the timing is wrong? Moving on, pool was not cleaned at all, dead bees and cockroaches. Next was the restaurant with the horrible customer service. We sat down in the restaurant expecting someone to come as one does in a restaurant but no one gave any attention. Had to call ourselves, It was an Italian restaurant & we had a server come up to us after calling him, I didn’t get his name but he was an Indian man and we were 7 girls, he only gets one menu out, I was like we can’t all share one menu? Then we start looking thru the menu and after we decide on the food and start giving our order he tells us nothing on the main course is available and some of the side dishes weren’t available. Why didn’t he think to say this in the beginning when he handed us the menu ? Also I was very visibly annoyed and he kept laughing at everything that...
