Desert Safari in Abu Dhabi… in JULY 🥵🙅♀️ I almost passed out y’all! Within 10 mins I had ice packs all over my body just trying to survive. Missed the camel ride, skipped the ATVs… all the fun activities… GONE.
An hour later, I find out there’s been AC in the women’s washroom this whole time. 🤨 So I spent 45 mins in there like it was a 5-star resort suite.
The henna lady tried to help me out with her little fan… but it was just blowing hot oven air straight into my soul. 🥵🔥
And the worst part? I didn’t even eat. While everyone else was enjoying their buffet, I was in the washroom on an AC survival mission. My belly went home empty. 😩🍽️
Moral of the story: If you’re doing a desert safari in the Middle East in July, locate the AC FIRST… then eat, then be adventurous.
Well, this is my whole desert safari survival story! Plan wisely. You are welcome ☺️
Bonus:
Adventure & Thrill Rides • Dune Bashing – A 4x4 ride over sand dunes (like a desert rollercoaster) • Quad Biking / ATV Ride – Ride across the sand on your own all-terrain vehicle • Sandboarding – Like snowboarding but on sand dunes • Camelback Ride – Short ride to experience traditional desert transport
🚗 Dune Bashing… Not for Everyone They told me it would be “fun.” What they didn’t tell me: • It’s like a rollercoaster with no tracks • Your stomach might file for divorce mid-ride • You will question your life choices at least twice
Pro tip: If you get motion sickness, politely wave from the sidelines or yell… and maybe volunteer as the official “I’ll hold the bags” person. 😂
My highlight of the night: “Belly Dance”❤️❤️
Visiting the desert without experiencing the captivating allure of belly dance is simply not an option! No heat could keep me...
Read moreAbsolute MUST-experience! This is our 3rd Desert safari with Desert Rose and it does not dissapoint. From pick-up to drop off, it is an exceptional experience.
We booked the tour in advance, also enquire about using the Entertainer to buy1get1 free. Payment was at the camp.
It always start of with a photo opportunity in the Desert. Make sure to have your props ready. The time there my vary depending on your arrival in relation to the rest of the vehicles.
Ajeeb was an excellent driver. Always making sure everybody is okay without holding back on the fun stuff. Sitting in the back is probably the last place you want to be as it is difficult to get in/or out, the bumps feels worse and you don't have a good view of the action. If you do find yourself here, make use of the back window to have the best view of the Desert and the fleet of suv's. This for me was part of the tour as seeing 25 vehicles line up through the Desert is equivalent to watching a choreographed dance.
We stopped at a Camelfarm for some photos after which we went to the Desert Rose camp to ride a camel.
The camp has a variety of activities that is included in the tour: Henna, holding a falcon and dressing in Emirati clothes. And don't skip out on climbing the massive dune to take some photos of the sunset in the Desert.
Now it's time for entertainment and food. Don't be shy to try everything as the performer asked for volunteers to attempt his twirling dance. Due to Ramadan the belly dancing was replace with a Fire dance. Also amazing.
The tour ends of with some stargazing and taking pictures of the camels (and their shadows) against the sand dune.
All and all an experience that should...
