We have recently visit this Zoo, I'm regretting it now. First thing what was shocking four small dogs, one of them was Cocker Spaniel, were kept in the cage at 12pm under tree in zoo cage!!!! After so many question to stuff I found owner and spoke with him and told him its not good at all to keep dogs at this heat outside, after this conversation the dogs were move somewhere inside, fair to him, he is seems nice person, but what he said, this made me speechless, these four dogs were brought by people to the zoo to be kept in cage...some are in bad condition, its just show that the people who brought them didnt look after them... I'm just wondering how these people sleep in the night after this act? Next time you gonna drop your dog to the zoo, take you kid is well! Dog is a part of the family and life commitment, not a present! The next thing that made me sad is the cutest soul orangutan female, her intelligence more that 80 percent of the workers(whom could be nice to her, just disgusting) in that zoo and we not gonna mentioned about visitors... her eyes are saying all, she has to interact with people from morning till 10pm on concrete..... she needs some break! Forcing her to interact with people all day without rest or a natural environment to retreat to is both physically and mentally taxing for her. Zoos, especially those that may not follow the best practices or standards, often struggle to provide environments that meet the animals’ social, psychological, and physical needs.(Orangutans are the largest arboreal animal on the planet. Most of their lives are spent in trees where orangutans travel from branch to branch by climbing, clambering, and brachiating. Orangutans have been noted to have an IQ of between 70 and 95, with a normal human IQ being 100. 10 - Orangutans are an endangered species.) Orangutans—along with bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas and humans—are great apes, not monkeys! I hope owner will do something for her, she is only 16 and they live till 65 years... Would i visit again any zoo, i will say no, its a prison to animal, who did nothing wrong, but serve their life in cage for...

Read moreI recently visited Umm Al Quwain Zoo, and I am deeply troubled by the conditions I witnessed during my visit. It is disheartening to see the state of neglect that many of the animals appear to be suffering from. Several animals were visibly dehydrated and malnourished, which is not only cruel but reflects poorly on the zoo’s commitment to proper care. Majestic creatures, which should be thriving, looked extremely thin and lacked the vitality they should possess.
The overall hygiene of the zoo was severely lacking, with many of the enclosures emitting strong, unpleasant odors, suggesting a lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. The cages themselves are distressingly small, especially for larger animals, leading to visible discomfort and distress. Additionally, there is a critical shortage of shade and water for animals like dogs, goats, and horses, particularly in this extreme summer heat.
The camel ride was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of the visit. There was only one camel catering to hundreds of visitors in a single day, and the animal was clearly overworked and distressed. I personally witnessed the camel crying and refusing to continue further rides, only to be beaten and forced to continue. This blatant mistreatment is inhumane and unacceptable.
As someone who cares deeply about animal welfare, I urge the zoo management to take immediate action to improve the living conditions of the animals and ensure their physical and emotional well-being. Animals deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and proper care, and visitors should be able to enjoy seeing animals in healthy, well-maintained...
