Aber Falls, also known as Rhaeadr Fawr in Welsh, is a stunning waterfall located in the Snowdonia National Park of North Wales. It's one of the most impressive and easily accessible waterfalls in the region, making it a popular destination for visitors of all ages.

Here's what you need to know about Aber Falls: Location: Situated at the northern foothills of the Carneddau mountain range, Aber Falls is part of the Afon Goch (Red River) and cascades down a rock face from a height of about 120 feet (37 meters).

Accessibility: The waterfall is known for its excellent accessibility. There's a well-maintained, family-friendly path leading to the falls, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels.

Views: The path offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, including the Carneddau mountains and the Menai Strait.

Activities: Besides admiring the falls, visitors can enjoy various activities such as hiking, picnicking, and wildlife spotting. The area is home to diverse wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, and a variety of bird species.

Tips for visiting Aber Falls:

Best time to visit: The waterfall is most impressive after periods of heavy rainfall. However, it's beautiful year-round. Parking: There is a car park near the start of the trail, but it can get busy during peak season. Consider arriving early or using alternative transportation. Facilities: There are public restrooms and a small café near the car park. Safety: Be cautious near the edge of the cliffs and the waterfall. Stay on the designated paths and avoid venturing off-trail. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply looking for a scenic day out, Aber Falls is a must-visit...

Aber Falls is a beautiful natural attraction located in the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. The waterfall, which drops 120 feet, is a stunning sight to behold, and it is surrounded by picturesque woodland and mountain scenery. Overall, my feedback on Aber Falls is very positive.

One of the things I love about Aber Falls is the accessibility of the site. The waterfall is just a short walk from the car park, and there are well-maintained paths that lead visitors through the woods and up to the viewing platform. This makes it an excellent destination for families with young children, as well as for anyone who may have mobility issues.

The other thing that really stands out about Aber Falls is the sheer beauty of the place. The waterfall itself is incredibly impressive, and the surrounding scenery is just as stunning. The woods are full of native trees and plants, and there are plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife. It's a peaceful and serene place, and the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

In terms of facilities, there is a small visitor center at the car park that offers information about the site and the surrounding area. There are also toilets and a small café where visitors can purchase refreshments. While the facilities are fairly basic, they are perfectly adequate for a short visit.

Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Aber Falls. It's a beautiful natural attraction that offers something for everyone, from families with young children to seasoned hikers and nature enthusiasts. The accessibility and stunning scenery make it a must-visit...

Absolutely loved the whole experience! (It’s free) part from car parking (£5 for all day) or you can park for free in the village and walk up. The road is narrow with passing places but not too busy the day we visited…

There is no cafe or anywhere to buy drinks or food, but in the approaching village there is a cafe.

We saw a few people having a picnic!

The walk up was fairly easy, took us 34 minutes (we walk fairly fat) from paid car park at £5… really beautiful walk, all marked out clearly, not too steep, toilet facilities at the top car park… the falls are really stunning, we seen many and this is one of the best…

We had lovely weather which obviously helps the experience, hopefully the photos show this…

When you get to the falls you can go left and also right over a little bridge, we went left first which is more busy then came back and went over the bridge for the best views and photos on the right in our opinion.

Sat on a rock, Spent about 15 to 20 minutes soaking up the energy and listening to the water fall, we also placed our hands in the pure cold water which cools you down after uphill walk.

You can also take a dip, we saw a couple doing a dip, be aware it’s very cold water even in nice weather!

The toilets (free) are a little hard to find, it’s the higher car park…

So would I recommend a visit?

100% I dare anybody not to like this place!

Truly stunning nature at its best.

Reduce your stress get out in the nature and absorb the natural environment!

I’m sure your love it like...

#ad We’ve been in the Snowdonia area for about three weeks now and we absolutely love it here. Having climbed Snowdon a couple of times before, we wanted to see some other places and find some shorter walks. From the last few weeks in the area these were our favourite places/things to do here. One of the things that makes us really excited about exploring and seeing new places is photography. Jake loves capturing memories and moments and I am really passionate about editing the photos, so heading out to beautiful places to create images gets us really excited. We are lucky enough to be partnering with @lightroom to showcase how this software completely transforms our images. I’ve been using Lightroom for about 5 years and the features just keep getting better and better. I’ll be making a series full of information about capturing images and also editing them, so stay tuned for my future posts if this is something you’d be interested in. . . . . . #MadeWithLightroom #AdobePartner #travel #traveller #travelblogger #wales #snowdonia #visitwales #uktravel #llynpadarn #roadtrip #photographer #travelphotography #lightroomtutorials #lightroomedits #aberfalls #cwmidwal #llanddwyn #newboroughbeach #betwsycoed
