Old manor house with gorgeous garden and spectacular views. Car park is a bit of a walk from the house but worth the exercise. Has tea room attached with some indoor seating but on a good day sit outside and enjoy the view. Tea room not extensive fare as rather small compared to other sites. Disabled parking near ticket shop and toilets. Short walk from ticket shop to house and gardens. House was practically derelict when three sisters purchased it. They restored the house and lived there until they died but transferred the property and surrounding grounds to the Nationsl Trust. A big disappointing that no photography is allowed inside the house especially as it is rather inaccessible to anyone with mobility problems. Gardens has rather narrow paths in many places so also a bit inaccessible to wheelchair users. Large array of plants in the gardens and a walk through the orchard and woodland available. House has lots of things owned by the Keating sisters with room layouts pretty much as...
Read moreNot many people know about this magical beautiful manor house. Originally build in 17th century, later rebuild and extended, it stands at the southwest shore of less known Llyn peninsula. Surrounding area reminds me Mediterranean coast. Beautiful blue water, steepy hill with cliffs, all combined with small but dense forest around the house. At the top of Plas yn Rhiw land are gardens with wild flowers and orchard with absolutely stunning views over the ocean. House itself it's currently under long renovation and it will take another 7 month to finish the whole process. We had at least opportunity to see gardens and have cup of a tea and locally made cakes in the coffee place just few meters away from the house. Whole area is very peaceful and it's easy to spend there hours just sitting and enjoying endless tranquility. Plas yn Rhiw with welcoming volunteers, stunning panoramas and beautiful peaceful location is one of my favourite National Trust locations in the...
Read moreBlue badge parking near the information/payment office. The main car park is opposite the entrance. Tearooms are small, but there are tables outside. There is also a wheelchair adapted table as well, so you can tuck in...it's the only circular table near the tearoom! Lovely staff that work there and the coffee was nice as well. We had a picnic with us packed away for later, but the food being served was being freshly made and plated up, and the portions looked plentiful! The garden walk was much bigger than it looked, benches set inside to just rest and enjoy the divine smells and views. Which we did on a lovely sunny day. There are a few walks to choose from. If you have mobility issues, I would recommend looking from the gardens as you can see where the steep parts are in some parts. We decided that we would just partake in the gardens and tearooms on this visit, but our visit was an enjoyable few hours. Dog friendly in some...
