This @5000 year old multi chambered tomb remains is a little challenging to locate but I found it well worth the effort and a fascinating hidden place. The tomb itself was constructed in three different phases, the first and third being the most prominent today in terms of visible remains. The three chambers were in a long gallery structure some 60 metres long and 15 metres wide so it would have been an impressive mound structure indeed when completed. The gallery design of chambered tomb was popular in Ireland at the time so there was some link here possibly?. Signposting to the site from the road is minimal (please don't try and park at the farm!) but my phones satnav made the 400 metre or so walk from the road to the farm to the tomb quite fun and enjoyable. I visited on a Sunday when nobody was about. The final kissing gate to the tomb, some 25 metres from it, was weighted closed by a stone that was light enough to move to gain entrance but I ask people do as I did and put the stone back upon leaving the site as small lambs could force through here as they are determined little things. I live on Anglesey and always see these situations from the point of view of the farming community. You can park on the grass verge at the entrance to the farm BUT large farm vehicles (and construction vehicles as of May 2022) may need access to the farm road so please be considerate in your parking but I hope you enjoy the...

Worth the difficulty getting there is you enjoy this sort of thing. Very little in the way of signage or directions. Only accessible on foot, vehicles shouldn't be taken into the farm. Once parked, walk down through Fferam Rhosydd, past the new house being built to the derelict barns. Turn right down the track at the barns (sign on gate, visible if closed) and take the second gate on the left. Keep to the fence on the right until you find the black metal kissing gate (stuck shut with a large rock at time of visit). The megaliths are not as well protected from livestock as other, similar Cadw sites. It seems a shame this one is...

Sign is almost covered. The best way to find this monument is to go past the farm and find the iron gate that seems to be in every CADW site. Then it's a straight line to the next iron gate across the field and the monument is...
