Cwmtillery Lakes — Attraction in Abertillery

A lovely little lake teeming with wildlife. There were lots of tiny fish in the shallows and we saw a pike lurking a little further off. Plus dragonflies, damselflies and water fowl. Plenty of parking and the start point for a few walks. Unfortunately there were no information leaflets in the (broken) dispenser. It's not easy to follow the walks (other than the short lake circuit) without a map as there are few waymarkers. Excellent location for a walk, a stroll with a friend or with the dog, have a picnic read a book and a million other things. The lake is not large but big enough. It contains lots of fish,ducks and many migratory birds. There are many walk ways going up and around the hills that surrounds the area. A favourite place to visit. It's unspoiled, apart from shameful people who decide to litter. It's a peaceful place for a walk.
