Waingroves Woodland — Attraction in Amber Valley

Bit of a beautiful spot for a rest. There are so many around this area that it can be difficult to choose your favourite. The area is peaceful, the locals and their children are polite. Might even get lucky and see 2 grey squirrels (siblings or lovers) playing. They will come close if you have food. I'm always finding little weird treasures too as you can see in the pic. Honestly, I'm just pushing for my contributor badges with this one, but my comments...

A very pleasant and enjoyable walk through glorious woodland, a community endeavour, built on the remains of an old colliery, this well managed area, provides a home for a wide range of flora and fauna. An interesting sculptured memorial to the miners of the colliery, which closed in 1924 in the middle and at the summit of the wood. Well...

Lovely little woods for a walk round, like to go down here when it's raining as fairly sheltered and there's clear paths and then when it's hot into the woods to keep in the shade. A lot of bird life and interesting to see what they get up to sculpture wise. The information is also...
