Excellent facilities, clean and staff are friendly. The new play park is excellent and very popular. Some lovely walks and an excellent location for a good run.

The one issue and the one that took away the 5th star is the hot food. The sausages are very obviously of the lowest standard possible and chips are little better. Don't go for the hot food please.

July 23 update. Café not open on a very busy 12th July holiday in the early afternoon. I overheard one worker declare to another that she had closed the café because she couldn't be bothered covering for another worker who was "exhausted". Please tell me how anyone can be exhausted where there is no pressure and obviously no management oversight or planning. A hugely poor attitude. I doubt what was on offer was of a good standard either. Give the cafe out to a private business to run and see the...

We walk here quite often and if you want to walk a decent distance it is a good idea to park at the Kinnego Marina car park and to walk to and from Oxford Island. The paths are well maintained although near the Closet viewing area there are some steep steps. There are a lot of birds to be seen, for example, Robins, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Dunnocks, swans and Coots. It can be very busy on the weekends. There is a playpark for children, toilets, cafe and a visitor centre which are open in non-lockdown times. There is very little litter. Dog fouling is only a problem on the paths near Kinnego Marina in my experience. Parking is free at all locations but the barriers do...

Went for trip with my aunt on 23rd August, whom I was visiting, from England. Oxford Island is a beautiful Nature Reserve but the cafe was certainly a let down. The floor was disgusting with food & spillages all over it. They had reserved tables with uncovered bread rolls sitting for the flies to enjoy. When the waitress was putting cups on the table she carried them to the tables with her fingers inside them. I would certainly not like to eat there & would certainly not give it a 5 food hygiene rating. Sorry Oxford Island but you need to do something about this sooner...

It's a nice trail in the weekend or even a weekdays. There are several species of water birds and many other birds. I also spotted hide for the photography facing the lake. One can plan for photographs of birds sitting inside the hide. Apart from this tere are several trails along the river and I spotted many birds. Not surprised with many of Robins This place is known for other fauna like butterflies and insects. It is a treat for the wild life lover to visit and do birding. So plan it with your camera and a binoculars At several place saw people fishing 🎣.

This reserve features walking trails, a marina, and a café at the visitor center. It is a beautiful location, and the trails along the lake provide a refreshing retreat. However, please note that the boat ramp is currently closed and inoperable. Take your time to walk around and enjoy the natural surroundings. Although it was windy during our visit, the weather was sunny and pleasant. There are picnic tables and a barbecue area available for everyone to enjoy
