It is not the best place to visit, as the lakes are used for fishing and the grounds are pretty messed up due to ruts in the grounds surrounding the lakes. Also some of these people drive fast so not really safe either for children to play..
The biggest issue we had was due to the fact it looks like some of the land has been sold and they are building a housing estate over on one side of the lake. This ruins the views and stops you from walking completely around the lake itself.
Also dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, so not really dog friendly either. With these issues I would recommend checking out other parks around Kent, that do cater for families without the worry of pets or children being run over by people fishing around the lake.
To sum it up if you want a park to walk around with no facilities in the park itself, this place is for you. Remember you are in Kent and there are many more places and parks to go that make this place look pretty useless. In fact on our way back from walking through the fields over the road you have a smaller park with a nice play area for children, if you knew that was there we would have given this place a miss. Best go somewhere more...
Read moreWent there to see the view with baby and grandparent. Just after stepping out of the car, man fron the fishing club starts screaming at us for parking in the members only area. I apologized but he kept on screaming at me and the baby in my arms and in front of grandmom. The view is ok but to be treated so rudely when I have already apologized several times. It must have been because we were clearly not local that he kept treating us so harshly. If he talked calmly and clearly, seeing as I was with the baby, the message would have still been sent across. I don't know if he meant to show off to the locals how he can be a hotshot in the place.
It was very upsetting and my baby cried all the way home ad he had never been shouted at like that, more so by a grown stranger. I dont think any man would treat a woman with baby and elderly lady that way unless they have not been...
Read moreIt's local to us (walking distance) took grandson for a visit. Entrance into park, full of rubbish, (surrounding waste ground) not sure why road isn't completed ?? Signs inside park states 'keep to path' what path !!! Originally, l understood, they were going to have a path for the disabled, l have mobility issues, not suitable for people like myself. It would be nice to have some sort of seating around the lake ,so you can rest and take in the views & watch the wildlife. Came across discarded clothing, empty bottles & plenty of rubbish laying around, very...
