Had a picnic here and there were plenty of picnic tables to choose from. Also good parking facilities and toilets. Lots of walks to take, but we were short of time, so will be back to explore more.

Sadly it was the last day of a little snack and tea bar, which had decided to stop trading due to various issues . So we missed out on that and am sure locals and regular visitors will be sad to see this go, having seen many people come and go that day with their dogs and families.

A lovely natural park, but we were intrigued by the strange noise as we sat having our picnic. We discovered later it was the traffic going over the metal bridge, which was the other side of the hedge, running along side the road .

We will...

This was 1st time back here for well over 30 years, and not much has changed, which is a very good thing. We used to come here as a family back then with a picnic and a ton of energy to run off and happily get my kids doing the same. There are toilets on site in the large free carpark. Thos is popular with dog walkers and ramblers alike. If you're feeling a bit more energetic, you can walk or cycle to here from Sudbury along the old railway line, which is level and straight too, so excellent for your younger children to use. Highly recommended...

The country park is a good place to connect with nature, for families you have a cafe ( bring cash ) toilets. There are ponds and a river, wooded areas where den building is positively encouraged, sometimes workshops are available. If you are a family with a doggo then even more of a great place to visit. If you like longer walks than the park it's self, you can walk the old railway line to Sudbury, historical market town, birth place of Gainsborough. There is free parking at the country park and picnick benches, also it is well managed....

Really nice area suitable for most people. I hesitate to say everyone as some areas would not be wheelchair friendly - but mostly good! Well kept with some places given over to nature. Good place to fish although one local chap said the otters have decimated the fish stock. Lovely for picnics- many tables available and spread out. Excellent for children to play (supervision needed by the river obviously). Lots of places to explore and allow imaginative play. Look out for the swans and cygnets! Toilets handy.

Beautiful little park for a wander. Runs alongside the river and has a large pond/mini lake with well trodden paths meandering around the largely wooded park. Lots of points worth stopping to take in the views. Den building area. Several picnic tables spread out and dotted around a very pretty area close to the free parking. The grass in this area is also cut if preferred. Tiny cafe nestled by a pond in the trees is another nice spot to take refreshment. As is the Nethergate brewery just around the corner.
