Shotley Pier: Under restoration by a volunteer group hoping to raise money for its total restoration. Would like to build a small information museum of its fascinating history during the war and of local knowledge not recorded as yet. [Unfortunately this small building was objected to by developers who said it would spoil property views. These developers have not fulfilled their obligation to build a road for local residents. Makes me wonder whose interest are being served in this fascinating area. Especially as more planning has been submitted where this road...

Great place visit, for walk with family, or just you and dog. Toilet still available during lockdown. Great spot to park up by the water and just sit if weathers bad, but do get out and go for walk along the paths scenery is awesome.
