I had a wonderful day at the Walled Garden creating a beautiful willow flower support under the guidance from Heather. Heather is a very patient teacher (believe me she needed a lot of patience as a few of us found the support quite challenging at times) On arrival i was greeted by Lorraine who made us all feel very welcome. Lorraine provided us with a very tasty lunch made by herself and using some of her own grown ingredients from the walled garden. We finished off the day admiring our Willow supports over tea and coffee accompanied by a very tasty homemade lemon drizzle and then a walk round the garden. Read moreWhat an amazing day my friend Glynis and I had at the Willow Angel day.From making sure we had directions to the warmest of welcomes to the most quaint and quirky workroom to the delicious coffee breaks and lunch all included. Then we had the actual weaving of the willow, I could not have received more encouraging guidance and help down to being able to go to the field and cut my own pieces of willow to add even more character to my Angel. I seriously wonder if there has been any kind of risk assessment done as the grey stone chips were laid but uneven and patchy. If they were laid to even out the surface, it didn’t work! There were random bits of piping and black plastic everywhere. The talk was interesting the home made cakes lovely but I think 20.00 was excessive and the perimeter needs to be made...
