No tickets for the castle needed, it's just whatever the ticket prices are for the gardens (National Trust decide this)
It's well kept, fairly big open area and my daughter absolutely loved it. There's a staircase that takes you to the castle top. Perfect for picnics. Well shaded if you're planning on taking newborn children. Path leading upto castle is buggy friendly.

Read moreNice, easy access and good quality NT property. No gift shop (😭), but saved a few quid to spend in the cafe instead. Attractive gardens and parkland, get quite close to the deer population.
