First visit despite living in area over 30yrs, nice pleasant walk, 50/60mins, squirrels, wild flowers, bluebells just fading, car park for 30/40 cars (free), gets busy even on lockdown, other entrances available with maybe on street parking, not sure of facilities as never used or looked at them, red markers signify pathways but didn't seem to point in direction to take and with many options we went off track(maybe I wasn't paying enough attention) great for children & adults, dogs allowed but wish owners would clear up mess left, really annoying specially with children about. Will use again in these troubled times for peace and excersise. Our second visit 8/7/20 was just as enjoyable, spotted a young deer and grey squirrels were running everywhere

I only briefly visited Norsey Woods with my dog to try a new area to walk him in. The paths were clearly sign posted and traveled enough to produce a clear pathway, man made by footfall only, no gravel or stone, only a few beams to create steps on some of the steeper areas. I went on a frozen and icy December morning and was very quiet. Will happily go back to take the dog for a longer walk (when he isn't keen to get back home and sit by a radiator!) I would recommend this place for a walk, but necessarily a picnic.

Lovely woods with a clearly marked trail (if you head back from car park towards the road) that loops you round the majority of the woods via 23 benches (my son counted those) and many 'dens' just off the track. There's also an accessible trail, and mobility scooter available to book. Recently there's a fantastic cake shop that is opening some days of the week (Phoebe's Pantry on Facebook - Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from October, just Wednesday in August this year).

Went for a walk here on the 21st February 2015. Beautiful Sunny day but it had been raining over the last few weeks so was quite boggy & muddy.

There are a few entrances along Rosebay Avenue. There was also a path sign posted to & from Billericay High Street.

Plenty of car park space for people that drive their dog's to the park? and plenty of signs to ask dog walkers to pick up dog poo. As usual not all of them do this. But in the main we didn't notice that much. We were surprised by the amount of abandoned filled dog poo bags. Some lovely meadows along the way and plenty of safe gates to stop cattle wondering around to other farmland.

This is a great place and only a short walk from the busy Lake Meadows. great to listen to the birds sing and watch the changing colours of the leaves as the sun pops in & out.

Must go back again soon and wear the right footwear...

Norsey is a a coppiced largely deciduous woodland with very well marked trails and maps that can be downloaded giving points of interest. March was really too early for a visit (though local dog walkers and their families were enjoying it) - the trees still being bare and not a sign of bluebells yet. Only a small patch of white winter aconites near one of the entrances provided floral interest. Coppicing produces a sea of relatively young, thin, straight trunks which have a rather mechanical air until clothed with leaves, making it less picturesque than some woods at this time of the year. The wartime trenches and the tumulus are very understated and would have been missed if not on the map. Nevertheless an...
