Interesting Bawn from the Plantation and era of colonial exploitation of Ireland. Although in State Care there is a complete absence of information on this site, it's development and context in the landscape. Also, absolutely no reference to the very significant major battle that occurred nearby in 1646. Hundreds died here and we remember none of them.

Nice 3km still around the grounds of the priory taking in the river Blackwater and finishing with a coffee in the local stables cafe. Craft shop next door has a nice selection of arts and crafts by local artists.

The castle sits overlooking a steep valley, carved out by the Blackwater River. 100 acres of forest border the river and are open to the public for walking

Located within the grounds of Benburb Priory. There is no access into the castle grounds but the nearby Blackwater river walks are excellent.
