Kingfisher park gives you the impression that you’ve traveled to the countryside. Lots of wild open areas. Usually fairly quiet. Good car park ( which gets locked at night, so check the times which are clearly displayed at the entrance) has a big lake, where people fish and boats are used occasionally by sea cadets who have a training ship on site. Read moreThis is an amazing walk as part of the 7 wonders walk, called The Dingles. My wife and I discovered it after taking a walk earlier in The Haunch Brook walkways. On the opposite side of the dingles towards The Shire Country Park is the John Morris Walkway.
We spent a few hours discovering the areas, collecting berries to make jam and just enjoying the inner child memories. Was a little wet due to the recent rain, but the sun came out and we will surely visit it again once spring/summer comes...
Read moreI grew up from the age of 7 in Shard End. I have fond memories of this park. I walked through there to school, my playing fields were there. I went there every day for over 5 years. There is much more wildlife there than before. Many waterfowl including great crested grebes so that is a very healthy pool. Its so clean and clear too. It's been a wonderful walk around there.
