We travelled from South Yorkshire on our ebikes through Whitwell and Elmton to the park. What a great job they've done to restore the woodland previously destroyed by coal mining. We saw hawks and even a snake at the Top of the World before we rode back to S26 through Creswell and Harthill. Covered 23 miles and enjoyed every minute.

Nice country park to walk around. Usually very quiet and peaceful with nice views of the surrounding area with some art installations within the park. Paths are surfaced and are accessible. Parking is currently free (Oct 25) and the car park is surfaced with marked bays and accessible bays. Great for dog walkers.

It is a country park where you can walk around beside the lake. There is a car park, that you can park your car for free. You can bring your dog with you. There are Mines and Stones called the top of the world.

!!!! Went on a pony trek here, brilliant place, gorgeous horses. The park clearly states that horses are allowed on. There are purple signs up stating this and that vehicles aren't allowed on. We were followed by someone driving a Derbyshire council van around the park, not at a distance but literally up the last horses bottom. If this person had any knowledge or common sense they would know to keep a safe distance from horses. I felt like a criminal on what should of been a wonderful trek. Some of the horses were spooked by a dog charging up to us whilst this person. Was following us. They didn't ven have the common decancy to see if we were OK o had been injured. No they did not. They took photos of us!!! Including my 12 year old daughter, this was a private trek and they did not have permission to do so. I travelled 40 miles just to have a special treat turned into a fiasco by Derbyshire County Council. Cheers for that!!!! The horses and Countryside were fabulous. Derbyshire council get your act together and give your employees some knowledge about horses. Luckily it was only a couple that bolted if all 10 had bolted up the hill when your employee was behind us there could of been a serious accident as the horses had no where to go as the van...

Lovely walk by the lake & Grandkids really enjoyed a cycle round & fun on the play parks. Was amazing sat watching the gorgeous huge dragonfly’s & seeing what other wildlife we could spot xx Would give 5 stars but was a very hot day so needed extra refreshments from the cafe. Was so expensive in my opinion compared to other country parks & minimum card payments which doesn’t need to be the case now like it did...

An enjoyable visit. At times a steep undulating walk, with a walking surface mostly of compressed gravel, however with wide open green spaces surround by trees and bird song. Benches about but not that many, didn't see any other facilities! One small thing to watch out for is that horses use the park and occasionally can leave reminders!! However a Recommended...
