Blackpool Wake Park — Attraction in Borough of Fylde

Me and my partner came here on a Saturday morning for some open water swimming. When we arrived we thought the place looked great, nice lake with a cafe right by the water.

We were greeted by a very friendly young woman behind the counter at reception who we paid for wet suit hire as well. She kitted us out well and were very pleased with how good she was.

We're inexperienced when it comes to open water swims but very competent swimmers nonetheless. There was three other women who came for the morning swim too who were experienced. They were a great laugh, friendly and helpful. I tore my swim hat while putting it on. Fortunately one of them brought a spare and let me borrow it for the session.

My partner has her first triathlon coming up so got some reassuring advice off the other swimmers there.

After the swim we went to the cafe by the water for a coffee to top off a good morning.

Extremely poor customer service. We had booked to do the Aqua Park and then could no longer go due to 2 of our party having covid. Although we gave the aqua park notice that we could no longer attend and an email conversation was taking place to rearrange the booking, when our initial booking date came and went, the park told us we could no longer rearrange as they assumed we were still coming as we had already signed the waiver (they ask you to sign the waiver upon booking). I then spoke with the owner on the phone to challenge this as the park were already aware we were not attending due to covid; the owner spoke to me in a patronising and rude tone which was totally unnecessary. Great place, lovely surroundings, the little cafe and outside seating area are really cute, the actually wake park is really good and really exhausting after the full time. The staff are so friendly and happy to have a laugh and joke, I'm so sorry I cannot remember your name I think it was Jake, there's a grass banking for you to sit and watch before and after your session.
