I rarely write reviews unless it’s a wonderful experience, and I just have to share about mine. My husband and I did a road trip east to attend the Half Day Falconry Experience at Joe’s Bows and it was an absolutely amazing and interactive time with Toni and her falcons in the beautiful Edwardian gardens and fruit orchards. The birds of prey are beautifully kept and clearly well trained and socialized, the marks of an attentive and dedicated handler. In the three hours we got to see and interact with a variety of majestic birds of prey, a peregrine falcon, harrier Hawk, barn owl and hooded vulture while enjoying the beautiful nature with them. Their attention to detail and dedication to making sure each guest had the best experience really stood out. We flew 3 owls (one of which was a Burrowing Owl called Elf), 2 short winged USA Harris Hawks (one called Eva who was an absolute babe) and watched Sir Lancelot the Lanner Falcon working the lure whilst flying between us at speed. This wasn't a show, we held food and the birds flew to our gloves (except the Lanner). A couple of them were still young and so it was a privilege to be part of their training.
Amazing to be close to these birds, see their personalities and learn about them from the Falconer. Thanks so much.
Mount Ephraim Gardens are lovely. I would have loved to have spent more time there and made a day of it. Now...
