Genuinely one of, if not the best beach I have visited in the UK! And I've been to some beaches 😂. Firstly the car parking is excellent. You park on the river estuary, behind the sand dunes from the beach. It is just £2 for the entire day. Near the car parking there is a cafe and toilets, which when you have a 21 month old in tow is a god send. To access the beach it is a short 500m walk across the sand dunes. The beach itself was brilliant, mainly sand but with some pebble sections, including a strip which makes a large rock pool when the tide goes out. We spent some time exploring and found craps, hermit crabs, shrimp and small fish. It was alot quieter than the main beach down in the centre of Borth, far cleaner and zero issues with sand flies. Personally I wouldn't go back to Borth beach when Ynyslas is a matter of 2 miles or so down the road. As the sea retreats it also leaves pools which my toddler had the best time running though and splashing about in. We had the best day and hope to...
Read moreStunning location £4 to park for the day, but you can enter, leave and return. The most beautiful sandy beach accessed via an elevated walkway through a visitor centre Toilets were open when we visited but the centre was closed Nice car park man who takes the money will advise you of opening times We were overwhelmed by thd beauty of the place It was stunning and relatively quiet on a gorgeous sunny day Only one thing....our cockerpoo off lead became very interested in jellyfish 🪼 on the beach so was promptly put back on lead Don't let this put you off as they are easily spotted We compared this location to the settings in the Algarve where we visit a lot. An unexpected find. Try to access via A roads as far as you can out of Aberystwyth B roads approach are very narrow but we made it ! Depends what you are driving...
Read moreLove this beach in the spring and summer. Can be very windy during the autumn and winter so you would need to wrap up. But come summer it's full of surfers and paddling family's. As it's sandy when the tides out it's ideal for a game of football or chase. Sometimes you get little pools the kids can sit in as the sun soon warms them up. Bucket and spades a must for building sandcastles. A good public toilets midway between the top and bottom. But if you travel down to the far end to ynyslas there is a gift shop and toilets to. And you can have fun in the dunes. As with any beach you can park on be sure to check the tide. A few unfortunate people have been caught out. But a great place to visit and with the added bonus of an...
