Love this zoo! Have been going since I was very little. There always something new and different, but also familiar scenes and animals. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. The zoo is kept clean and tidy. The animals are well looked after and clearly cared for. There is a massive carpark (plus overflow). The entrance isn't too far from the parking area(s) and all with access for wheelchair users. Throughout the zoo there is access for wheelchair users and is friendly for people with pushchairs also. There are cafes on site, toilets and a gift shop. The prices are what you would expect from a zoo and the quality of the items for sale, either in the cafes or the gift shop are good quality. The price to enter the zoo is the price you would also expect, but there are always offers on, just have to look for them. If you want the option to visit again and again all year there is a pass that can be purchased. It is very child friendly. There is a climbing area/ play area. There is a climbing tower and a train that takes you on a mini tour of the zoo. There are interactive talks on throughout the day. There are areas that you walk among the animals, which are always fun! All in all, a lovely trip out, either by yourself or with family/ friends. If you were to just walk around it would take about 2 hours tops. If you were to watch a show/ talk and have some food etc, it could take you the best part of a day. With that being the case you are allowed to leave the site and go to your car and return as long as you have proof of ticket purchased. The vast array of animals is lovely and the photographs you can get is always exciting.

Visited today with my 4yr old boy and husband while on a forest holiday close by. We spent most of the day exploring the zoo it was quite. Free parking and plentiful. I booked online and they were doing £10 tickets. Personally I'd have been disappointed if we had paid full price. The zoo is small, some cages/enclosures small and we didn't see loads of animals. It all seemed well kept; clean and tidy. Lots of things closed but an animal talk every hour. No paper maps, took a pic on my phone. Map isn't the easiest to work out tbh, but fine. There was 1 cafe opened the Pizza place but they were also doing sandwiches and the menu from the other cafe next door which was closed. It was packed, we waited ages to ask someone to take our order but the food came out quickly. Paid £1.60 for a can of Pepsi. Top Tip - bring your own food. There is a play park with a range of equipment to serve younger and older kids. My son enjoyed being able to go in with the goats and stroke them. There was ice cream signs everywhere but the cafe only had quarter of the amount they were advertising so we had an unhappy boy as they didn't have any he liked. We had a great day for £10 a ticket but full price I'd have been disappointed.

Banham Zoo, while clean and well-organized, left much to be desired during our visit. Despite the neat layout and the care taken to maintain the grounds, the overall experience was disappointing due to a few key issues. First, the variety of animals was limited, which made the visit feel somewhat lackluster compared to other zoos. The lack of staff engagement was also noticeable, with very little interaction or effort to engage with visitors about the animals. This absence of connection was particularly evident in the fact that there were no shows or demonstrations to highlight the animals and their behaviors, which is something many families look forward to when visiting a zoo. There was one talk about the howler monkeys, but it was conducted in the main walkway, which felt awkward and poorly planned. The presentation lacked the focus and environment needed to really appreciate and learn about these fascinating animals. It’s clear that the zoo’s planning and execution in this regard could use significant improvement. One of the more enjoyable aspects was a fun ride through the park, where the guide was knowledgeable about the animals. Unfortunately, even this experience was dampened by the fact that we didn’t actually see many animals during the ride, leaving us feeling a bit underwhelmed. Nina and Lettie did manage to enjoy their time at the zoo, but overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The pricing was another downside, with entry fees and merchandise in the gift shop being on the expensive side. For example, small stuffed toys were priced at £11.00 and up, which seemed excessive given the overall experience. In summary, while Banham Zoo has some positives, like its cleanliness and knowledgeable staff on the ride, the limited animal variety, lack of engaging shows, and awkward presentation left us feeling disappointed. It’s one of the least impressive zoos we’ve visited, and we wouldn’t plan a return visit.

Had an absolutely brilliant afternoon here with the grandchildren as a treat for all their birthdays. It was fairly reasonably priced with concessions for over 60s helping the affordability. However I didnt really like the fact that the cashier automatically added approx 10% to the total admission and then asked me if I was ok with that. Regarding the animals and zoo, the place was well signposted and there was easy access to all the animals. A lot of thought has been given to viewing the animals and I loved that several enclosures have glass viewing areas so I was able to get some amazing (for me!) photos with my camera! The schedule for feeding times was given out at the ticket office, as was a paper trail for the children where they had to collect stamps at certain points. The youngsters loved this and were even more excited to swap their completed papers for a medal at the end. All the animals looked clean and happy with plenty of room which, for me, was the most important thing. I will definitely be going again and also may consider a season ticket. Thoroughly recommended!

It was my first time at the zoo, and I was pleastantly surprised at the spacious walkways, good size viewing areas, and general size of the enclosures for the animals. It is sign-posted throughout the zoo and gives a good indication of the various enclosures, including distances, which is useful when needing the loos! The variety of the animals was good, and they are well looked after and their sites clean. I know it's not everyone's idea to see animals in a zoo, but for some this is the only way they can see animals that are not indigenous to the UK, and I personally did not see any animal in distress. The staff were friendly and informative and showed infinite patience as we towed fifteen 4 to 6 years old around the zoo. There are areas that also help to get young children to explore and play during (den building and playgound) which are good. I would also recommend going on the safari train, which gives you a good idea of what is in the zoo and how big it really is. Overall, a good day out!

The variety of animals at Banham Zoo and the staff's care of them are exemplary. I was primarily there to see their Pallas's cats, but was impressed by all the animals on show, especially the snow leopards and red pandas. The enclosures are well-planned, catering to both the animals' wellbeing and the visitors' experience – I've never seen giraffes or tigers so close in other zoos! That Banham have done so well with what must be tight margins speaks to their thoughtfulness and dedication. I spent some time talking to the staff and they were all friendly, excited to answer questions, and their love for the animals shone through. There were lots of activities for children, many food options, and the gift shop had some fun merchandise. Of course I'd have loved some Pallas's cat-themed merchandise, but I'm very happy with my snow leopard keychain! Banham is a fantastic zoo, and I can't recommend it highly enough for solo animal lovers and families alike!
