Having been to the Old Buckenham Airshow the last few years, all I can say is it’s honestly a fantastic event, lots of old WW2 era planes and modern ones too like the Typhoon. Highly recommend for anyone who loves history or aviation. My granddad always told me of the yanks who gave him candy as a kid during world war 2 on the old American air base. Lots of history to learn here and experience!

Small museum dedicated to the airman and operations of the 453rd bombardment group. Memorial garden for fallen crew. Very evocative of times long since past. Thank God for these brave souls. Station 144 cafe onsite serving fabulous home cooked food. Check website for opening times. Adjacent airfield in regular use. Good half day out. Thank you to the staff who made us very welcome.

Very small museum, but informative. Lots of artefacts and a creepy dummy thats kind of leering at you. The maps on the wall are interesting. Free but there is a donation "box". If the door looks shut, pull it, it probably is open. There is a war memorial opposite as well.

I went to the Old Buckingham Airshow today. The weather wasn't perfect for them, but they tried their very hardest to get as many planes in the air as possible, with excellent tannoy information about what time to expect things starting and on the planes themselves. There were some great displays of aerobatics, even with the clouds being so low, and they also had some classic cars and army vehicles to view. There was plenty of choice of good quality well priced food, play areas for the kids, and decent on site toilet facilities. An excellent afternoon out, in a well organised and well run environment. If everything they organise is like this, I'd happily go to...

Went there after reading a book on Jimmy Stewart's wartime service. The hut was very interesting but a gallery in another hut was being refurbished and there really wasn't anything else to see. The photos on the internet are misleading because I suspect stuff comes out for airshows only. My advice is check beforehand what is open and on show. Wasn't worth an hour and 20m minutes journey but if you are passing then it is well...
