River Lee Country Park is one of our favorite places for walking, offering a perfect blend of nature, wildlife, and peaceful scenery. We usually park in Waltham Abbey and walk here, enjoying the well-maintained trails that meander through wetlands, woodlands, and open meadows.
The park provides an excellent escape from the city, with plenty of space for leisurely strolls, cycling, and even birdwatching. The River Lee Navigation adds a special charm, with narrowboats gently gliding along the water. The pathways are mostly flat and well-paved, making them accessible for all visitors, whether on foot or bike.
One of the highlights of the park is the abundance of wildlife. Swans, herons, and kingfishers can often be spotted along the riverbanks, and in spring and summer, the wildflowers bring vibrant colors to the landscape. The peacefulness of the area makes it ideal for a relaxing walk, and even on weekends, it never feels overcrowded.
There are several picnic spots and benches along the route, perfect for taking a break and admiring the scenery. For those who enjoy longer walks, the park connects with other green spaces, allowing for extended exploration.
Overall, River Lee Country Park is a fantastic destination for nature lovers, walkers, and cyclists. Whether you’re looking for a quick escape or a longer adventure, this park offers a refreshing experience in the heart of the Lee Valley. Highly...

Read moreThis park was very beautiful. I have been visiting here many times over the past years. On 9/9/2024, I found the best part between Hooks Marsh Car Park and Fishers Green Car Park to become the wost part! The plants have been left to overgrow and cover nearly everywhere! All those beautiful views of the past are no longer there. The rest of the park is not that bad. The park is very big with many lakes, waterways, footpaths and boathouses. However, there's only one public toilet at Fishers Green Car Park. This car park is monitored by many cameras. If you don't pay for your parking, you'll get a PCN! There are many towers carrying high power electric cables in the top half...
