A truly wonderful beach for a walk. I think this may be my new favourite beach on the south coast. The parking area is not massive but parking wasn’t an issue. It’s free to NT members but others have to pay. Be aware there is no mobile internet access for parking apps so bring cash. The beach is made up of sand and small pebbles which makes for easy walking. Dogs are allowed on it all year round. We met loads of friendly people and our two Labradors had a great time off lead playing with other dogs. I didn’t notice any dog mess or litter lying around. Dog owners: let’s keep it free of mess please! We wouldn’t want to lose access to this gem of a spot. Although I went in early February I still had a swim in the sea which was lovely. It’s a safe spot to swim but does drop off steeply a few yards in. There’s a slight back wash to be aware of. Needless to say the water wasn’t warm. I cannot...

Very easy 5minute walk down to the beach, it's a 'small pebble' beach. I'm from Cornwall so to me this more of a seafront than a beach. I'm probably being a bit harsh though! Unfortunately there are a lot of strong undercurrents so swimming, paddleboarding etc are too risky.

Read moreLovely place, spacious (end of chesil beach) and lots of fun. The crushing wavey background is much closer to those you'd find in Cornwall that nearby Bournemouth and there is plenty of space.
When we arrived there was a couple resting against a huge piece of driftwood and the beach stretches endlessly to the left, with large red cliffs to the right.
