We've been here a few times in recent years. It's not all that big but it's clean and tidy. Lovely setting by the river. There's a pub nearby too. A kiosk in the picnic area serves warm food and drinks. There's seating around it as well. Ample parking spaces most days except during busier times of year like during summer. Public toilets too. There's an area for renting canoes. Picnic tables dotted throughout. Good walk around for stretching the legs and for taking the dog out too. Children's play area is a good size.

Situated near Upstreet, between the river Stour and Stodmarsh national nature reserve. A grassy area next to the banks of the river with a small playground, picnic benches, public toilets and pay and display car park. Parking costs £1.30 weekdays and £2.00 weekends and public holidays. Various public footpaths cross through or run close to here including Saxon Shore Way and Stour Valley Walk making it a good starting or resting point on a days walking. Nearest public transport is the bus through Upstreet village.

Really enjoyable hour on the river in a double kayak. It helped to have perfect weather! Very friendly team there to greet you and take you through a short briefing then off you go! Useful map to guide you and show points of interest. Enjoyed a picnic on the banks of the river - benches and tables available too. Children's play park very popular with families. Will return to do a longer session next time we are in the area.

A Family of 5 Adults and 5 Children visited the Grove Ferry Pub Inn for an Easter Hunt for the children. I have to say it was appauling £4.50 each child which lasted about 10 to 15 minutes and the children just had to find matching pictures to get a freezer burnt ice lolly at the end of it. Not even easter related with a small egg just a run around the garden and wrotten ice lolly. I have to say it was a pretty poor show and rip off and poorly organised. We then proceeded to the play area by the picnic area of Grove Ferry which was much more exciting for the children it was a nice play area but a shame to have to visit it you have to pay and display with car so an overall rating of visiting Grove Ferry was not great and we certainly won't be visiting again in the future. The highlight of the visit was a man in a van who kindly stopped on our way out and gave us a large bag of chocolate eggs 🥚 for all the children to share this was such a kind gesture and made the visit worth while and we had 5 happy children....Thank you so much whoever you were you made their Easter 🐣 Monday a very happy one at the end of...

This one star review is not directed at the actual picnic site but more Euro Car Parks. My wife sought refuge here after hitting a pot hole, resulting in a flat. Slightly shaken up by the event and wanting to be off the dangerous country road whilst the tyre was changed we didn't take any notice of the parking ticket system as it looked like a normal pay and display, ANPR wasn't obvious on entry. We were only there for around 40 mins purely for changing a tyre. We later received a parking fine for said event, we appealed and lost. This was still considered "using the facilities". Yes, ok we did but not to Use the facilities, this was for safety. Moral is, BE CAREFUL when entering this car park as it's ANPR. If you break down or need to change a tyre remember to pay or risk your life on the country roads, they...

Very nice place, accessibility caters for most. Can get quite busy tho. River walks are nice and you can book to go on boat up the river. Not too expensive but check first. Road getting to grove ferry very winding and narrow in some places, be careful as moats are on both sides in a lot of places. Great place for day out with the family. There are free public toilets there. Beware that toilets can get a bit smelly later in the day in hot weather! parking is one off payment for all day, cash and card accepted. The pub is lovely and friendly if you fancy a cool refreshing drink after a nice long walk. Balcony overlooks the river so...
