On the track you can see barrows to the left and the track crosses the Devil's causeway though there is no sign of it now Once parked as instructed by the sign Follow the wall up hill to the gate and onto the crags Historical places of note from right to left Follow wall to the cut/track through crag called Salters Nick (stone age settlement 12000 BC) Bear left on top of crag for remains of stockade from iron age Left down to valley and up to trigpoint for spectacular Northumberland views Left down hill to big rock called Pipers Chair which is above the Roman fort Below this is a surprise if you can find it... Back along the track towards the farm then left along the wall all the way back to the gate you entered by then back down to car Make sure to shut the gate behind you!
