3-Star Review for Wincanton Racecourse
Wincanton Racecourse is a decent day out for horse racing enthusiasts, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The location is picturesque, with a charming countryside setting that makes for a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities, while basic, were clean and functional.
That said, there were a few downsides. The viewing areas felt a bit cramped, especially during peak times, making it difficult to get a good spot to watch the races. The food and drink options were fairly limited and on the pricey side, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the signage around the venue could be improved, as I found myself a little lost trying to find the betting counters and restrooms.

Only thing that let it down was the bar staff, not just in one bar but a couple of bars we visited, was like they had never worked behind a bar before, asking for well known drinks and their reaction seemed to look lost in what we had just asked them, seemed chatting was more the priority rather than serving and getting the drinks out. I wasn’t the only person to feel this frustration regarding the staff and...

Unfortunately, several of the punters spoilt the day in the Owners and Trainers lounge by hogging the tables when other owners were trying to find somewhere to eat. We ended up balancing our dinner plates (hanging precariously) on the window ledge because of their selfishness. It would be nice if Wincanton could address this issue in future by placing notices around the dining tables and hall to ensure that the tables are...
