what a lovely place to take a walk. i like theres a car park located what i think is Cheddar rugby club. right near the local Cheddar skateboard park. The reservior has a path all the way around it. It really is a large volume of water. the day i was there was warm ish with a breeze. and walking along the pathway feels like walking near a shore. with the cool air as a result of blowing across the water. could ever a bit of wave splashing. I saw cows. ducks and even some people fishing. i found a boating club too. another great location here in Somerset for walking. running. dog walking. fishing or boating. take a walk. get some fresh air. you'll be supprised with the views and open space. really clears your head.

Don't miss out Cheddar Reservoir a beautiful artificial reservoir in Somerset situated between the charming village Axbridge and Cheddar (20 min from Bristol by car). I recommend for a countryside day out with friends or family to visit Axbridge then walking to the Reservoir and then visit Cheddar. You will love the breathtaking view, the relax walk and the stunning sunset. You can get there by car too there is a space to park. This place is perfect for family, there is a playground for kids. Yes you can bring dogs too. There is a yacth club and there are acquatic activities in the reservoir.

I would have given this place 5 stars, but for the over zealous dog police. We’ve been enjoying walks around the reservoir for years, allowing our extremely well behaved dogs to walk freely alongside - except when there are sheep of course. But now it seems that we can’t be left to our own judgement with vans with surveillance cameras mounted on them chasing people off the aprons meaning that dogs can’t even go to the water’s edge for a drink. And now no one can enjoy a walk if the temperature is over 23 degrees C. A massive overreaction to a few people ignoring the no swimming rule. So thanks Bristol Water. You...
