The Astbury Golf & Lodge Resort — Attraction in Chelmarsh

Having stayed here for the last 8 weeks in between awaiting for the completion of our new house,we can only say as a family we have enjoyed every minute.We left our family home of 20 years with very heavy hearts,the location,the staff and the food soon to our surprise started to help us get over our sad house move. The lodge we have stayed in is so modern and clean and has clearly been looked after. The restraunt in our opinion is the nicest and smartest in Shropshire with food to match,we have enjoyed our Saturday nights there,family Sunday breakfasts and afternoon teas. We are well travelled having been to over 70 countries and stayed in many 5 star hotels ie The Ritz,The Savoy,Claridges and many more we can say the service at The Astbury is way up there with these hotels. As a family having visited such places many times we are quite picky however we have not felt the need to complain once here at all everything has been perfect for us. It is ironic that having travelled the world we find that one of our favourite places in the world is in fact on our doorstep here at The Astbury. We have enjoyed our walks seeing 2 waterfalls,several pheasants,a fox an otter and several Heron many times plus rabbits.The hot tub has also been a big hit. It is with heavy hearts we leave in a few days however The Astbury now has us as customers for life,the 25 minutes drive for us fromTelford is nothing and we look forward to many visits here in the future. Our weekend stay at the Astbury Golf Resort was absolutely fantastic! We stayed in their charming cottage, and it was one of the best UK weekend breaks we’ve ever had.

The cottage itself is exquisite, boasting three spacious bedrooms, a cozy lounge area with a beautiful log burner, and a large TV. The outdoor space, complete with a hot tub, was simply divine. Additionally, there is the convenience of parking right next to the cottage with availability of electric vehicle charging facilities.

Our dining experience at Montgomery’s Restaurant, located in the elegant manor house, was exceptional. The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. A definite highlight was the truffle and parmesan triple cooked chips - the best we’ve ever tasted!

While we didn’t have the chance to play golf, the course looked stunning, and the surroundings were simply beautiful. We also noticed the availability of tennis courts for guests to enjoy.

While we stayed in the Cottage we noticed that The Astbury Golf Resort also offers luxurious lodges for both stays and to purchase, providing a tempting option for future visits.

Bridgnorth town is just a short 5-10 minute car journey away, perfect for exploring the area.

However, what truly made our stay special was the outstanding service from the staff. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor made our experience unforgettable.

We recently had our wedding at The Astbury in Chelmarsh, Bridgnorth, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue or team. From the very beginning, Val, along with Carol and their entire team, were incredibly attentive, supportive, and helpful — nothing was ever too much trouble. In the run-up to the wedding, Val was a constant source of reassurance, always responsive and proactive in helping us get everything organised.
