Marsh Farm Country Park — Attraction in Chelmsford

A nice place but feel a little run down at start.

The good and bad:

Good: f

1. Free parking and ample parking.
2. Tickets office to the job.
3. Entry through gift shop.
4. Lovely animals to see.
5. Nice external playground at end and indoor playground inside main building at centre.
6. Tractor ride included.
7. Staff are really nice and helpful.
8. I liked the shows during summer where children could touch the rabbits and the ferret: the two young men doing the show were funny; for Easter break there was none of this.
9. I liked also the halloween time with pick your pumpkin from the field and then learn to carve your pumpkin: my kid loved this and was proud to have been helped and succeeded and carving her own pumpkin.

The bad:

1. If it was not for the two playgrounds, I think my kid would be bored.
2. The little shows in the barn are sometimes ok some other times not funny at all. The three D films are ok i guess.
3. The tractor ride is ok but nothing to see apart from flat green land: I enjoyed it because it was a refreshing break for me; but my child did not particularly enjoyed and was cold.
4. inflatable tractor at start is totally run down and lost all its colours: need replacing.
5. the first playground is closed I think and run down: does not look nice to enter to such vision: a run down inflatable and playground.
6. along the far playground which is really nice, behind a fence safe, a tractor was used to dump what seems to be broken things: was noisy and does not give you the feel of top notch place for children...

Very disappointed went there with daughter and grandchildren to see Paw patrol characters that side was good, however the park is dilapidated in need of repairs etc, the "funfair" consists of three rides and a train, one operator for the three rides and they were all in a poor condition. The train was OK. Think it's owned by the county council if so someone needs to get a grip, it wasn't cheap to get in overpriced to say the least. On the way out we bought a cake at half price good we thought until we got home it was mouldy! Sad but not a good...

4.5 stars. Fabulous place for children. My 2.5 year old loved every part of it. There are loads of places to sit and lots of activities. Play fort, fairground rides, bouncy pillows (amazing), toy tractors, animals, climbing frame, entertainment theatre. Can definitely spend a great few hours here and entry is only for people with children and the parking is free. Lost .5 of a star as the food options onsite are limited and not very healthy. Would be great to see them provide better options but I would bring your own if possible and...
