I went on the Upper Heyford Tour 27th August . Very impressed with the Tour Guides and parts of the old American Service Station at Upper Heyford. Excellent volunteers,all very frindly , knowledgable and helpful.
May I suggest the following please. Arrange for a comfort / coffee break about 1/2 way round the Tour.
The parts that I found interesting were : A. The decontamination area. B. The Airfield control room C. The Airfield lookout tower D. The Aircraft Hanger that the opening doors work on.
May I ask please - can the areas I mentioned and the rest of the area shown to us be renovated ? It would then be much more appealing to folks who wish to take the Tour.

I want to thank the staff of Heritage Centre. Absolutely incredible and moving experience! It's truly special to be able to revisit a place that holds so much personal history, especially with the added perspective of time and the guidance of knowledgeable staff.. I spent many long hours on the flight line working in the 80s As an aircraft mechanic for F 111 aircraft.They showed me places on the base that I didn't even existed at the time I was stationed there. A fascinating small museum which offers guided tours of the former major US airbase. I had no idea it was such a vast and important airbase before I visited, and there are plenty of interesting stories to learn about it.
