Lovely hidden gem! We looked up on Bristol Barker which is the website full of good recommendations for dog walking as we try to get our pooch to explore new places and working on her sniffing skills. We found this on the list and we were very surprised how pretty it is! Very healthy mossy wood, lots of sticks for the dog and very easy route to get around for either short or long walk. Parking is free on-site and very easy perhaps it wasn't a busy day but I can't imagine this place could be busy. There's no bin so make sure you carry all your litters with you and no toilets as far as we can see. We definitely going back very soon.

If you like trees, lots of them, and you have a dog, this is the place for you. There are several wide, gravelled paths and lots of adjoining grassy paths, suitable for walkers. Dogs love running into the woods and out again, so this a great place for them. I am on a mobility scooter and fortunately it has good suspension as parts of the gravelled paths are very rocky and I bounce along. Nevertheless its good to take my dog for a walk there. There is a good car park.

Great walk, there's a large car park, lots of trails to walk. Couldn't find a map though at the woods so best to see if you can find a trail map online. We followed the outside path and walked for around an hour and a half and only saw another person once in that time, admittedly it was on a Friday at 1pm so maybe not a true test of how busy it can be. Will certainly go again some time.

September 2025. A selection of trails through lovely woodland, many of them well surfaced and self draining so good for prams and those less fleet of foot. We strayed off the main path a couple of times and on one occasion followed what we thought was a fairly well established trail but got lost. Myself and the dog had fun trying to find our way back but the wife was less amused. Parking was free, pretty well surfaced and able to cope with a good number of vehicles. There was a height restriction barrier at the entrance so owners of larger vehicles need to consider this. A couple more route map points along the trails and a few more arrows to show the different routes would be appreciated as would a dog poo bin in the main car park. Sadly, there was quite a bit of dog mess along the trails and on a dull wet day with leaf litter starting to fall, it's to spot. Luckily, we avoided treading in any but we passed a family whose young kids had stepped in and were busy trying to scrape off their wellies. I understand that dogs off their leads will run off on their own and coil one out and their owners will be oblivious but too many owners are happy to let their dog have a crap, often right in the middle of the path, and leave it there. I also struggle to understand the mentality of people that pick up poo in a bag but leave it on site or hanging from a tree. If there's no poo bin, take it home FFS. That aside, the wall was wonderful and we spent a couple of hours, happily traipsing around beautiful woods for free. Well...

Great place to take the kids for a walk or picnic. Be careful of: *For some reason dog owners think its not necessary to clean up after their pets here, more so than elsewhere. But children have plenty of scope here for stepping in the stuff! Lots and lots and lots of disgusting piles of poo all over the woods with some discards in poo bags simply dumped. *There's a goalpost gate at the entrance, watch out for your roof clearance. *Some potholes in the car park are deep. *Only saw one bin and that was in the car park. Possibly leading to most dog owners being lazy and not taking their...
