We recently visited Dunreyth alpaca farm during October half term and were absolutely disgusted with how we were treated. We’d been given a voucher for my daughter birthday and I’d booked this via email back in July. The day before our visit we’d received a reminder email giving us all the necessary information we’d need for the walk. It stated on the email “Please do not bring anyone with you who is not booked onto the walk, as they will not be able to join you.” I assumed this meant spectators etc. Upon arrival I’d just got out of the car and was placing my baby in a sling when Peta greeted me with a not so friendly welcome. Unfortunately we were then turned away and not allowed to join the walk as they wouldn’t allow me to walk with my daughter carrying my baby. They also would not refund or reschedule. When I challenged this with Bruce and his behaviour turned extremely aggressive, shouting at me in front of my child saying “ I should have read the website”. I explained I didn’t book via the website so therefore hadn’t seen this piece of information but I did explain that I’d read the reminder email which had zero information regarding babies. Bruce’s behaviour unfortunately upset my daughter so much she ended up in tears, it was extremely inappropriate and confrontational.

It was such a shame as this could have been dealt with in a much kinder manner. So disappointing. I think the staff would do well to remember “ In a world where you can be...

If I could I would award 0 stars. Very inflexible and rigid . I had just moved to Hampshire and was sad, my husband got me a walking voucher to cheer me up. As with life in a new city. I got busy and bogged down with new schools and parent illness. I only just realised the voucher will run out on August 13. I booked for the 1st of August but I received an important appointment letter for the 1st of August. Of course I emailed asap to ask to change to the 30th August. Their response was No. Your voucher will expire before .!!!!! Great customer service!! Don’t book if you expect them to be helpful or flexible. Obviously I would have booked a date within the 13th of August had it been possible for me time wise. As for asking for an extension of the date of my voucher. Asking for my booking to be moved to the 30th can be considered an extension. And if it was not considered an extension. The business owner certainly didn’t offer it as an option or suggest it. They just said No flat out. The customer cannot be expected to know that a voucher can...

Visited Dunreyth on Sat had a great morning we arrived early and had a chance to see the Alpacas and Llamas waiting to be fed we were welcomed warmly by the owners Peta and Brian who lead the Alpacas into the shed to be fed they kindly invited us to go in and watch them then the ones walking that day had their harnesses put on and lead out to the yard to team us up. We were lead out of the yard and into the forest area where we walked at Alpaca speed as they do like to stop and nibble the greenery on the way round we stopped at a view point you could see all down to Portsmouth and Sussex it was a beautiful sight we were given a treat for the Alpacas who promptly gobbled it up then we walked back to the farm again with the Alpacas munching all the way back it was a lovely walk and the Alpacas are so soft to touch it was a truly great experience and would certainly do it again Thank you Peta...

AD | How to have a perfect alpaca day trip on the coast with @southernrailuk TRAVEL DETAILS - To get to Dunreyth Alpacas catch a train from London Victoria to Chichester then get a 30 minute bus or 15 minute taxi to the farm. You can also go to Bosham train station, which is closer to the farm - 10mins by taxi - but harder to get a bus from - From the farm to Chichester Cathedral, it’s a 30 minute bus or a 13min taxi - From Chichester Cathedral to Fishbourne Palace it’s a 19 minute bus or 30 minute walk (which is what I did and is very pretty!) - From the Palace to the Anchor Bleu it’s an 18 minute bus, 9 minute taxi or 55 minute walk - To get back to London, it’s a 25 minute walk from the pub to the train station, then a 1hour45min train back to London Victoria . . Another wonderful experience at Dunreyth Alpacas. This is our third or fourth visit and it's brilliant every time. Whilst keeping the format the same, we usually get a different alpaca to walk but we now know what to expect. Firstly, there's an opportunity to meet the alpacas and talk to the staff. You are handed an alpaca and follow the leader single file. The walk leads up a track next to woodland and farmland. Eventually you stop and you can give your alpaca a treat and take photos! The view is also stunning. Then you walk back the way you came. The whole walk lasts about an hour and you can then buy products of your alpaca from the shop. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it is a family business whereby the alpacas are definitely part of their family! Highly recommend this experience. It's refreshing, different and good for the soul.
