Really enjoyed strolling round Tiptree Heath but was not impressed by the amount of Huge dogs off there leads running around like crazy, if your not a dog lover it's off putting. Also it mentions about dog poo being picked up on a sign, and next to the sign was a massive pile off poo, these places are for every one to enjoy. I was sat with my 2 year old and when I turned my head a Great Dane had its face in mine which made me scream (I know worst thing to do but it scared me, and the dog could have reacted badly) then a women about a minute later strolled round the bend laughing saying "I didn't know there was anyone there!" Parents take their children over there on bikes etc so not really fair on other families that feel the same, or poss treading in dogs poo. But over all nice place, nice and flat for disabled and elderly people, lovely and clean no rubbish that I saw so all in all...

It is being lovingly restored by the Essex Wildlife Trust and local residents with replanting of natural heathers whilst managing the naturally regenerating scrub and trees. Currently, the local friends group have created a temporary information trail which highlights some of the features and history of the heathland which goes back to the 15th century, once stretching from Colchester to Maldon. A perfect place for walks-preferably with a dog-or even outdoor remote learning PE sessions! Plenty of dog bins, photo stops and a little carpark on the main road. Wellies or walking...
Read moreA lovely, varied walk with heath and woodland paths... If it's rained, bring wellies as it can be pretty boggy in parts. Bins for dog mess are only located in the (free) car park.
