This field was converted into a nature walk in 2012/2013. It used to be a field that people used to walk their dogs around, even though it was private. Now though, it's open for everyone, with well kept gravel paths, a nice lake, and open spaces where you can fly kites, for example. There's a small, free car park that holds around 12 cars next to the children's playground, alongside Leigh Road. There are pedestrian entrances from Leigh Lane, Churchmoor Road, two from Leigh Road and two from the Leigh Common Nature Reserve, an SSSI. The paths are dotted with benches and there's a couple of picnic benches too. There's a nice bridge across the lake, which is near to the car park. Paths are solid enough for prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters, although they will be bumpy. There are dog poo bins at all the entrances. Other than the lake, there's not much to see; it's quite an open space, but there are some accessible tracks through the neighbouring nature reserve, which has more to see. The children's play area has child gates, and contains a climbing frame, swings, baby swing, roundabout, basket swing, a small assault course and a couple of things harder to describe. It's ok. There's no shops or toilets nearby. It's about 1 mile from Wimborne town centre.

A great public facility with parking, excellent children's play area and wonderful walking opportunities with paths, grassland, benches and a lakeside walk. Also opening on to historic Leigh Common with a board walk through its once grazed woodland. Only one thing lacking is toilet facilities.

Great open space walking with gravelled pathways that are suitable for children to cycle on. Plenty of open space for dogs to run on as well. There are also some streams and ponds and a nice children's adventure style playground.

Had a very nice walk at Bytheway field today with the wife & Holly our 6 year old Patterdale. Walk was nice & flat, good drainage on gravel paths. Lots of different directions you can take. Plenty of bins around the field so no excuse for not picking up after your dog, although we did notice it must have been to much trouble for a couple of owners😡😡.Parking was limited although it is half term & there were lots parents with kiddies...

Great place to walk your dog. There is a small childrens play area. A walkway through a wooded area/nature reserve which is on a suspended walkway. There is a large natural pond (which is low at the moment) with a suspended walkway through one side of it. There is parking for about twenty or so cars. There are no amenities other than the children's...
