I recently visited Cotswold Country Park and Beach and had a mixed experience. Here are some key points from my visit:

Cleanliness and Facilities: The park was disappointingly dirty, with limited toilet facilities that were not well-maintained. This detracted from the overall enjoyment of the day. It's crucial that the management addresses cleanliness and expands the number of toilets.

Food Options There were very limited food stalls available. This might not be an issue for everyone, but it's worth noting if you prefer to purchase food on-site.

Shower and Locker Facilities The park lacked shower facilities, which was inconvenient, especially after swimming or playing in the sand. Additionally, there were no lockers available, making it challenging to secure personal belongings. These amenities are essential for a beach park and should be considered for future improvements.

Seating There were no tables or chairs provided, which made it difficult for families and groups to find comfortable places to sit, especially for those who do not want to sit on the grass.

Aquaventure On a positive note, the Aquaventure inflatable playground was enjoyable, particularly for kids. My son had a great time, although some parts of the inflatable seemed to be losing air. It's a bit of a swim to get to the inflatables, which could be tiring for some. The lifeguards were attentive and appeared to be doing a good job of ensuring safety.

Recommendations The park has the potential to be a great recreational spot if some key improvements are made. Increasing the entry price could be justified if it leads to better maintenance, cleaner facilities, and additional amenities such as lockers, showers, and seating. This would create a more pleasant and comfortable experience...

Where to begin... Decided on a day out here as it's an hour drive away when all natural beaches are further... Thought it would be nice to spend a few hours relaxing on the sand and in the water with our daughters... Day didn't go exactly as expected... Our day to the "beach" soon turned into a day of wonderful fun for me, my partner and my girls... We hired a boat for £10 and had a lovely little explore around the lake, even letting our 15 month old twins take the helm for a few minutes each... The staff on reception and the staff at the boat hire venue were great, the boat wasn't ready when we got there ( which didn't bother us in the slightest... I don't mind a little wait on a day out) but the man still apologised and had a chat with us, they were all very helpful and pleasant and helped contribute to our great time, we then visited the beach, which was much better than I'd ever expected of an inland beach... My daughter's loved being taken out into the water and their enjoyment of it reached new levels when we noticed we had ducks swimming around us (a strangely lovely and unique experience you wouldn't get at any other beach)... After getting out, drying off and going onto the grassy area above the beach to take some photos we decided to walk back towards reception to see what the shop had to offer in terms of food... Then we noticed the pizzeria... The pizzas when they came out looked abit messy and very much home made (not at all a criticism!) They were absolutely lovely, very very fresh and tasty... It was a brilliant day with many new experiences for my twin daughter's who loved every minute... We will be back many more times...

This place is a really good day out for the family, the beach area is small and very crowded so I would recommend going on the grass on the furthest side of the beach. The sand is obviously fake sand and leaves a funky feeling on your feet and the lake is freezing but does go quite deep. I would recommend if you have kids to go to the main beach for swimming and the toddler beach for building sandcastles as the water their was very still and had lots of flying things in it. For a public park food prices were quite reasonable but I would still recommend to bring your own picnic or bbq items as you can hire bbqs for £60. There is also an inflatable course but this is absolutely packed and looks like there is no space to move around on them. The mini golf is ok but sticking some treasure chests and a pirate statute in the middle doesn’t make it pirate themed, also the walls on the side of the wholes were too short so if you hit your ball too hard it just went over them but for £5pp it isn’t that bad. There are some things I would improve though. Toilets, there were only two blocks for the whole site and the queuing situation. Even if you prebooked your activities you had to wait in the same queue as everyone else which was manned by one staff member with a very slow system. I was in the queue for 40mins!!!! This park is good but I think they have let in too many people into the park. The park does get really quiet around 4-5pm but then a lot of the food areas are not open so you might as well go home if your hungry but despite all of this I would definitely return. Also leave before 6pm or you...

Wow, what a great place. So much to do and great facilities. The car park was managed really well and the staff were super friendly and helpful. You have to park a good five minute walk away from the beach area so bear this in mind if you have really young children. The car park has ample spaces but it is advisable to book ahead as once the car park is full you won't get in. A pull along trolley is ideal especially if you are going for a picnic and have a lot of stuff for swimming etc. The two play areas are lovely and there is a paddling pool area right next to one of them which is really great for toddlers. The beach area is an awesome second best to the real beach and there are plenty of lifeguards all of whom were 'on the ball' whilst we were there. Although there isn't actually much shade on the beach there is plenty of shade on the grassy area behind the beach. There are plenty of toilets and places to buy food and drink. The inflatable area is awesome fun and well equipped. Ideal for keeping the kids active during the school holidays. Very impressive overall and highly recommended!
