5/5 – A Fantastic Day Out for All Ages! We had an amazing time at Summerfields Miniature Railways! There are three different ride-on tracks: the Summerfield Line, which takes you from Haynes End Station to Hammer Hill Station; the Springfield Line; and the Winterfield Line, which is a raised track offering a different perspective. All the tracks are well-maintained and offer a delightful experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and passionate about what they do, making the visit even more enjoyable. There’s also a charming Garden Railway to watch while enjoying a picnic. Overall, it’s a brilliant outing for families and train enthusiasts alike—lots of fun, not expensive, and definitely worth a visit!

A great little gem tucked away. Saw the sign ‘open’ and popped in. There is plenty of room to park, toilet facilities, a cafe and of course the train station. You can take a return train ride out into the countryside, then there are 2 more types of train rides once to get there, that do a double circuit. Then it’s a return journey back for cake and a drink. All reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely and chatted to the grandchildren, who had a great time. Will definitely visit again, especially now we have a leaflet with their opening times.

I recommend this train outing for toddles plus. I took my boys this half term and it was the last day till December when they reopen for Santa. We took all the rides. They have x3 platforms that take you round 2 to 3 times. The kids loves it and wanted to go on and on. The volunteers where so helpful. The cafe drinks and snacks were cheap (hot chocolate for my son cost £1) and they have toys for them to play with too. I was amazed with this place. I enjoyed the train ride as much as the kids.

We had the pleasure of being able to visit the Summerfield Miniature Railway on Sunday last. This was an out of season visit as our 4 year old grandson from Canada was with us, who was keen to enjoy the opportunity to indulge in his love of trains. We were so well accommodated by the warm and friendly volunteers, who made us so welcome on a very windy day. Each one is obviously passionate about their railway and saw it as no problem at all to see that we had a really great experience. For them to go out of their way was so impressive and we were so grateful to them all. We even got a hot cuppa to warm up with at the end of the trip in the comfortable club house! We will be back when the season...

A lovely morning out for me and my little one! She absolutely loved it (and so did I!) You pay at the station for a return ticket (£2 at time of visit) and and board a minature train to the next station. For another £1 you get two trips around two additional tracks located at the second station site. At this site there is a small picnic area and an outdoor train set to watch as you eat lunch. My only criticism was lack of toilet at the furthest station, meaning you needed to return to the main site. The issue with this during my visit was that it was busy and I needed to wait for two trains before getting back. I was busting! Just be prepared and you will...
