I read differing reports of the difficulties of accessing this beach, so I thought it was worth sharing my experience. We were a family of four (a 12 and 14 year old) we went on a dry warm day. Parking was limited to a handful of spots on a tight b-road, with an area to turn cars around at the bottom. The trail heads along a wide gravel track for a few minutes then and then starts to weave down towards the beach. The path is narrow at times but easy going, we all felt safe the whole way down. After 10 minutes weaving down, there is a small set of steep steps, which leads on to a smooth Rocky outcrop down to the beach. This Rocky outcrop does require you to scramble down, the last few metres require some balance and scrambling but if you go slowly it is simple, without the risk of some big steep fall. It is worth noting we saw smaller children, parents with toddlers in their baby carriers all scrambling up and down with no issues. In terms of the beach itself, it is awesome! Lots of interesting rocks to scramble on, some rock pools, lots to explore and enjoy. No facilities, quiet and away from the crowds. However - the beach completely disappears when the rinse comes in. There is literally nothing there when the tide is in. It is worth heading there when the tide is on its way out, and packing up before the tide creeps up!!! Definitely check tide times before you go. What an excellent beach though - entirely worth the small effort to get there.

One of the best beaches we have visited as a family. Seeing some of the reviews regarding access we wasn’t sure what to expect and yes at times it’s a tough one but as long as you take it steady it’s all okay. We are a family of 6 with 4 children ranging from 5 years old to 14 aswell as our dog. Parking was on a tight country road which with us have a small 4x4 was tight but passable. We checked the tide times before leaving and timed it perfectly. Your start by walking a farm track which in August was very muddy and took us by surprise. Once you bear left after the track and down the cliff it’s dry and rocky. Once you hit the cliff top it does get trickier and even more so when it was raining but as long as you take your time it’s okay. Beach itself is incredible. Pure sand after the rock pools. Waves huge and had to ourselves. Tough climb back up but well worth a visit.

Beautiful quiet beach, a bit of a trek to get to it and definitely look at tide times as beach only accessible at low tide, you csn get cut off if you don't keep an eye on the tide whilst on the beach, but such a beautiful place and good for small waves for surfing in the right conditions, the description of Tregardock Beach being near Newquay is very wrong, its no where near Newquay and is actually just up from Port Gaverne and just down from Trebarwith
