Worth it once. You wander down from Hartington, through the trees, and eventually arrive by the river. And it’s Heavenly. If you wanted God to paint a picture of a riverside walk in summer, this would be very close to it In terms of wandering, it’s flat all the way along the river, easy trails, with a narrow bridge at the southern end on the way to Wolfescote Dale. So why the worth it once? It’s not the easiest to get to, and whilst it is absolutely gorgeous, it’s not a day out. It’s something you walk along as part of a longer route.

Had a lovely from Harrington via Beresford Dale. It's a nice easy trail that's easy to follow an leads to many other circular or point to point walks. We accessed the Dale from near the public toilets in Hartington before looping round in the direction of Biggin and the Tissington trail but want to explore the route onwards to Milldale at later date.

Nice peaceful dale which can be accessed within a 20 minute walk from Hartington or by walking up Wolfscote dale. It can also be accessed by car from Beresford lane but parking is limited. Paths are good and easy to follow. The dale is less busy than Dovedale which is very popular.

Beresford Dale is Such a Beautiful and Tranquil place to be...walking alongside the Beautiful River Dove...at times sounding like someone's left the radio on...as the River Babbles Away...

You can walk through to Hartington and get a cuppa or some lunch...or a pint at one of the pubs...there's a duck.pond and even a cheese shop...and then head back out over the footpath through the field...through a little wood...over the wooden footbridge and then enjoy the company of the Beautiful River Dove again as it winds and...
