Heritage Wood — Attraction in Derbyshire Dales

Due to the storm, like so many others, we were so distraught that the illuminated walk had to be cancelled. Totally understand that it had to cancelled, but as a family we were so looking forward to go and see my husbands tree lit up. We lost him this year and I go every week to spend time in this beautiful place with him. I drove up in the afternoon to see if photos could be put on the website. I spoke to Jill and she was amazing, not only did she send me her photo, but she got Tom and Chris to photo his tree and sent them the very next day. I can never thank you enough, such help and caring from all. Thank you for making me have tears of happiness after a tear of grief. You are the best and kindest...

We have visited Heritage Wood several times and have enjoyed the tranquil natural environment by walking through the beautiful, well maintained woodland and taking some time to sit by the lake and watch the wildlife.

Last weekend we attended the Illuminated Walk event. What an amazing experience. The woods had been transformed. Very well organised event and the Hertigage Wood team were so friendly and welcoming. The trail is very well marked and, due to the matting, mud free and pushchair/wheelchair friendly. Hot drink stop half way around the trail, then a small selection of nice stalls at the end. Highly recommend booking for this event and also a visit at other times...

We enjoy visiting Heritage Wood very much. We really like the way the small lake opens up from the trees, it contains some lovely wildlife! We enjoy sitting talking in the peaceful location for ages. It really is a beautiful slice of England! The location is easily accessible from Derby on the A52 towards Ashbourne . Look for the sign for Ednaston Business Centre to take the left turn (then left again...
