A beautiful day walking along stanage Edge it's such beautiful weather so many people are out walking running free climbing and it was really nice something not to be missed. Today I visited stanage Edge with a very good friend of mine I'm about walking along the edge watching the climbers coming up in visited some of the viewing spots taking in some of the scenery of the Peak District. If you've never visited stanage Edge then you really must take a trip up there it's a nice trip for the whole family to go and see and just look around you at the whole of the stunning scenery of our Peak District in...

Beautiful location for walks among the moorland and Stanage Edge. You'll see amazing rock formations, stunning Derbyshire valleys and countless discarded millstones. I parked in Hollin Bank carpark and followed a walk from the back of the carpark. I chose a walk which is outlined from Peak District Kids website. Allow yourself at least 2 hours and 30 minutes for this walk. You have to pay £4 to park in Hollin Bank carpark for 4 hours, but all the money goes towards looking after the Peak District national park. If you prefer you can park along the roadside for free at...

The happy climbing walls of my younger days are now the walking excursions I enjoy. A fine easy stroll along the top and a leisurely stroll along the bottom whilst gazing upon the agile antics of a younger generation of rock monkeys. If walking dogs here beware of the cracks and fissures in the rocks, so easy for an excited dog to injure it’s self and also the steep and sudden drops. With strange people suddenly popping their heads over the parapet so to speak. Probably better to keep Pooch on a...

Stanedge is an amazing place. Great for a hike, or fantastic for climbing, fell running, paragliding - all sorts of outdoor activity. Parking can be busy if you park on the road beneath the edge itself. Consider parking at Redmires resovoir and walk up via Stanedge Pole, from behind the edge. Maybe 0.75 of a mile. If you can get there for sunset, on a good day, you will see a magical sunset. Particularly in Autumn.
