Re HIGH FLATTS BARN on the Tissington Estate. People talk about “home from home” being the ultimate in luxury – but this is so much better than my home! We’ve had the most divine few days, with dramatically beautiful views, sunsets and sunrises (the cloud blanket in the valley one morning was a particular highlight). There is everything you could possibly want here and more. High Flatts is supremely comfortable, beautifully designed, thoughtfully restored and the perfect spot for a mini (or preferably maxi) break in the Peak District. A hearty walk into the village allows for delicious coffees and snacks from Herberts down from the impressive Jacobean house, and the village butcher – Andrew Holmes – is a delight and famously known locally for his epic sausages (we had more than our fair share of those). Pheasants call on cue – as if positioned by Central Casting – and the Tissington trail is on tap for strolls, bike rides or hearty hikes. I know I sound like a tourist guide for this picture perfect Derbyshire village and holiday cottage – honest, guv, I’m not – we just loved LOVED High Flatts. Hats off to the Tissington Estate. Hats off to the cleaners whose work is impeccable. A massive paws-up from our dog...

We had our wedding at Tissington Hall in July 2023. We absolutely loved the location and the wedding exceeded our expectations! The rose garden and grounds were absolutely beautiful, we had so many comments from our guests about how much they loved it. Cat and Gabby were fantastic at organising everything behind the scenes, from walking round the village to give the groomsmen their button hole flowers early in the morning, directing guests to be in the right place at the right time throughout the day and even making a bouquet for the bouquet toss in no time at all! Cat was brilliant at answering all of our emails in the lead up to our wedding, dealing with all of the suppliers and made the day run so smoothly. We also visited Tissington a couple of times in the year before our wedding and Cat was very kind to show us and our families around Tissington Hall. She was an absolutely exceptional wedding coordinator and the only regret is that we don’t have a reason to talk to her anymore! We couldn’t recommend a wedding at Tissington...

This is like a fairytale location for anyone looking to get married. My daughter had her wedding there at the weekend. Superb facilities, so romantic, excellent hosts and the staff are out of this world. They nailed absolutely everything. Kat & Gaby - you are the best. Nothing was too much trouble, they thought of everything on the day and made the whole day a delight. The bridal suite, the grooms room, the food (thanks uppercrust) and the whole package. I dare not post pics before my daughter has but suffice it to say, the place was perfect, as was the weather. If Kat & Gaby had said they arranged for the weather to be perfect also, I would have believed them. And there were lots of other staff in support - too many to mention but you know who you are. Thanks for finding the lost shoes, mobile phones and handbags along the way. Thank you , thank you thank you. Can I give 10...

Lovely little hamlet feels like time stood still. You can walk the Tissington trail, we chose not to as it was so hot and not a breath of air, so we went into the lovely café had a nice meal and then had a walk up the high street took some pics and then sat and had a delicious ice cream. If you do what we did it's about an hour but if you go on the trail it can take a lot longer. Tissington Hall is a privately owned house they do have tours but there was a private function so we couldn't go inside, which was a pity as I would have loved to have had a look around this would have made the visit longer. It really is a very pretty quaint place to visit. It's a lovely place whether you stop off before going onto Dovedale or Ilam country park or choose to walk the trail.
