What an absolutely lovely place to visit. From the entrance where you pay your fee (£7 adults, children free) into a box and take your change from a bowl to the amazing gardens. A leaflet shows each area to visit including a library and self service tea and coffee (£1 and £1.50 respectively). Each section of the gardens is absolutely beautiful. There's so much to see with various places to sit and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. The range of plants and flowers is staggering. Both owners are actively working in the grounds along with volunteers. There is also the opportunity to buy plants before you leave. Overall a lovely experience and well worthwhile. Thoroughly enjoyed it from...

What a great place. The gardens are gorgeous. Lots to see and plenty of walking, if you want to, but it isn't necessary to appreciate the gardens. Nice little coffee machine in the library, which has the most diverse and eclectic mix of books I've ever seen! We spent an hour in there, drinking our coffee and admiring the collection. It's not a huge carpark, but always managed to get parked. Being able to pay by card would be a bonus, but signal there is patchy, so probably not an option. Make sure you take cash to pay the entrance fee! The volunteers are very friendly and always on hand to answer any questions you may have about any...

Visiting this garden is an immersive experience. With its many and varied garden rooms and areas, each overflowing with a manic mixture of both familiar and unusual plants, you feel like you have stumbled across the passion project of an eccentric but highly knowledgeable plantsperson. If you love experimental gardening, this is well worth a visit. The garden is well-behaved dog-friendly, has picnic areas a WC, but no cafe, so bring your own lunch and sit and enjoy the ambience. Don't forget to visit the reading room/library (I now feel I need a garden library come sitting room in the heart...
