Our family visited and stayed at Philipps House 55 years ago , after mum had spotted a little ad in the Manchester Evening news for holiday accommodation to let in the house itself .She was stationed in Dinton in the Land Army during WW2 and so this was a trip down memory lane for her.Coming from Salford we thought that this was the most beautiful place in the world , and it was to us then.We were housed in the attic rooms ,huge and wonderfully atmospheric. We 4 siblings talk about that time still and would love to make a little pilgrimage in honour of our darling mum and dad, but sadly not to be unless it opens to the...

Great park, lovely walks for you, your family and your dogs, please give cows a very wide birth, especially in the mornings, a few are giving chase to dogs, if this happens, let your dog run, you stand still or walk slowly away. DON'T LET YOUR DOG CHASE COWS, this is what causes them to go on the defensive! On another note, enjoy the park but please, if you are good enough to pick up your dogs poop, please take it home with you, don't decorate the bottom of trees or hang in branches, their is no one employed to pick up after...

Absolutely loved my tour of this property. I found it extremely sad that the National Trust has taken furniture out of this house to Stourhead.

The house has been used for movie sets and the furniture is just all stored in a few of the rooms. The library is spectacular and now resembles an antique store room🥺.

Why not put things back where they belong and hang the paintings back on the walls?

Have an open day every couple of months and generate some income.

Such a shame that this magnificent property...

Lovely sunny day spent with beautiful surroundings. Lots of space for a peaceful walk, kids could climb some of the fallen trees. The bluebells were gorgeous and the house exterior stunning. Car park only big enough for roughly 15 cars but guessing this is a hidden gem as not too busy. Great kids play park opposite, kept clean and all equipment looked relatively new and well maintained. 💫

Pleasant enough. Easy to find. Wide open space with a lovely view. Sadly it's let down by lack of seating and tables. Also having taken our dog there for a walk there are no bins. To ask people to clear up after themselves and dogs without bins is ridiculous. Being a national trust member I'd expect better. A shame as village is stunning. Disappointing.

Great open parkland in the beautiful Nadder Valley. Penny the whippet loves it! Philipps House is not open to the public, but the park has a small lake and is close to the picturesque villages of Dinton, Teffont Evias and Teffont Magna.
