Absolutely fabulous museum that is volunteer ran. Please consider going to this lovely place to keep its history alive and going. Great place to bring your children if they love seeing big engines run....also fun for adults to see all workings of the engines that ran the pumps. There is a wall of second hand books available for .50p and some brick-a-brac for sale that helps keep the place running. The volunteers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Read moreVery interesting and well laid out museum, I attended during the 6th annual Motorcycle event but I enjoyed my visit to the museum, the best part I thought is that the fire up all the engines at least once throughout the day, if you have children who are interested in big engines or if you yourself want to look at big engines which when running you can feel in your chest I would highly recommend going here. The 10-min intro video, photos with the exhibits and the steam engines make for an informative and well worthwhile visit (allow 1.5-2 hrs), even though we went on a day when the engines weren't running.
