Recently Three Ladies in a Boat looked to moor next to the Stretham Old Engine Museum. One Lady had an accident. Simon, who works at the museum was at hand and so very kindly helped us out. Read moreThis is a fantastic destination to discover the history of how the Victorians resolved the problem of moving large quantities of water from the fields to the river. The volunteers were very helpful and friendly in their presentations in showing how this marvel of Victorian engineering works. No photographs do it justice......go and see it, there is no substitute, it will amaze. Ask to see the Archimedes screw from even further back in time. All school children...

Accessibility is a bit of an issue inside the building, this was actually constructed as a 'working machine' after all!
