I have enjoyed this park for a very long time.

The cafe has adapted so that it is much easier to order food without having to queue where people are sitting to eat.... in fact I wasn't sure if they still had an indoor eating area?

It was a glorious spring day and there are plenty of benches and lots of room for picnic rugs on the grass.

My friend and I were visiting to walk our dogs and whilstbit was very conjested near the car park once we git further away we were happy to let our well behaved dogs off to Sniff and explore.

There is a really popular children's secure park with a wide range if equipment that would keep younger children very happily playing for a long time.

There are plenty of gravelled surface paths which making walking here in the winter less muddy but whilst they are fine but pushchairs the hilly terrain and rough gravel would make it very challenging for wheel chairs so I wouldn't recommend try to go for a walk if you had to push a wheelchair and self propelling would be hard even for an athlete!

The public toilet block is small for the visitor numbers but it was clean.

There is plentiful parking on grass so you could picnic next to your car if you wished.

There is something for...

One of the most beautiful country parks in Northamptonshire. It is stunning through every season. The park has a variety of walks for people of all abilities. A abundance of beautiful trees and shrubs supports local wildlife.... You are almost certain to see at least one squirrel on an October sunny afternoon I counted at least two dozen. There is a children's play park area which caters for toddlers through to about 14 years of age. There is a heritage area which shows the growth of the nearby town of Corby from the fifties through to today. This includes the Corby Steelworks from the fifties through to its eventual closure in the early eighties.

A really lovely cafe selling hot and cold food and snacks, ice creams, lovely cakes etc. And duck food. Forgot to tell you earlier, there is a duck and fish pond at the bottom of the park. The other thing that I love about this park is the views right across the valley.... Stunning. Car Parking is FREE. In the summer there is a barbecue area where you can have a barbecue, party etc. This is very popular in the summer, but there's plenty of room to Accommodate several parties. If you have never been then you really should...

East Carlton Country Park is a proper countryside escape, the kind of place where you can stretch your legs, tire out the dog or just wander until you find yourself admiring the big house and pretending you belong in a period drama. There are trails to suit every mood, from a gentle loop for a relaxed stroll to longer walks that make you feel like you are on a proper adventure. There is loads of open space for kids to run about, plenty of spots for a picnic and more than enough ducks to keep you entertained.

The café is a real bonus, serving decent coffee, hearty food and cakes that do not mess around with portion sizes. It is the perfect place to reward yourself after a walk, but timing is everything. By lunchtime a lot of the best options are already gone and by mid-afternoon you might be left with little more than a hot drink and a sympathetic smile. If food is part of your plan, go early.

That said, when you do manage to beat the crowds, it is a great spot to relax and enjoy something tasty in a friendly setting. Between the park itself and the café, it is an excellent day out. Just remember that the early bird gets more...

It’s a beautiful, serene country park with a designated play area for children with allocated seating nearby for parents/guardians. The walk in at most intermediate as there are some slight inclines however, majority of the path is light. Theres lot of huge Oak trees which was amazing to see and wood crafts throughout the park. There is an area to make purchases which has a variety of drinks, treats and eats. Ice cream bars were about £2.80 for one. There is a small duck pond with seating nearby and feed available for purchase. Very dog friendly with a dog wash area, as well as food on sale. Best part is Free parking! So you can make it a day long outing bring your blankets etc.
