What a beautiful place to stay and just be amongst to relax and wind down. This is my favourite English coast line, the beach is just huge, so clean and well maintained. Soft Brown sand. Walk 10mins down the nature path, down some steps and your at a rock pool beach. Hours of fun with the kids climbing over the many rocks and hunting for marine life. The weather at the time I visited wasn't too hot or cold, just right and it was March. But I can imagine how busy this area gets during the peak of summer. If you book away from the coast as we did you can save some £'s, I was a 15min drive away from the beach and the difference in price was a few hundred a night. The local food, plenty of, reasonably priced and of real good taste. Not overly priced at all. If you haven't been to this beautiful part of our country then get...
Read moreThe Otter Inn is a favorite of ours but has recently changed hands, on our last visit there were a few teething problems and felt staff were under alot pressure but feel sure in a few weeks all will be fine. The Carvery was faultless the chef cooks a great roast potato and a good variety of quality meats and veg it was perfect. Was disappointed there was no starters on the day especially as it was mothering Sunday. It's set in a beautiful village, its lovely when sat outside in the sun, the children have a great play area too so everyone is happy.. We will be returning in a few weeks hopefully staff will be under less pressure as they were a little rude and stressed especially the man at front of house which put us on the back foot and wondered if we had chosen the right venue for mothers day which was a...
Read moreBeautiful part of Great Britain, an area that perhaps many aren't familiar with as geographically dominant South Devon gets most of the press and tourism. East Devon is stunning in its own right, tucked away between Exeter and Axminster/Lyme Regis (although the latter is West Dorset). It has long winding valleys, quiet clean pebble beaches, busy market towns and of course seaside resorts (Sidmouth and Exmouth being the main ones) with Exmouth having sand on its estuary beach. There are numerous coffee shops, restaurants and takeaways to fuel ones visit, and wonderful scenic walks either inland or or along the South West Coast Path, particularly between Lyme Regis and Budleigh Salterton. East Devon also has some great attractions. Explore it at your leisure, it has some...
