A gem of a place to visit. Plenty of interesting birds from Stonechats, Dartford Warblers and even the occasional Sparrowhawk. Adders can often be found on the South side of the reserve. I sometimes come here to volunteer for the RSPB and lend a hand with scrub clearance and general maintenance. During the summer there is Heath Week so the reserve is transformed from the usual greens to pinks and purples. Some paths are extremely muddy in wet weather, but you can enjoy the beauty from the East Devon Way, which is actually tarmac at this point, as it follows a private road to the farm.
